AI Podcasts in the Zeitgeist

Hi Wondercrafter,

Today, I’m trying something new. You and I have been keeping a secret, but it’s starting to enter the Zeitgeist. It’s time we talk about it.

If you’re reading this, you already know about AI Podcasts. You might even have a live podcast created on Wondercraft. But until recently, most people had no idea that AI could be used to to create actual quality, like podcasts you’d want to listen to.

And then Google released NotebookLM and people started paying attention.

Here’s the thing: new AI tools pop up all the time, grabbing attention for a moment before fading away. There’s a new trend every week.

So, what makes this one different?

People realised that there’s something here. And that they can actually use AI to create engaging audio content. Combine that with a tailwind on podcasts due to their popularity in this election cycle and this is what you get:

This means two things:

1. AI can be used for creative, quality audio production

2. People are starting to catch on (but you’re still ahead of the curve)

I can tell people are catching on—because I’m seeing it firsthand. After my last newsletter, where I shared a tutorial from one of our users on using NotebookLM + Wondercraft to easily create (here it is, by the way), my inbox was flooded.

And beyond the inbox, the numbers speak for themselves. Here’s what our new users graphs look like (note this is new users, not total).

Don’t get me wrong—’we are lucky’ to be in this position. But this isn’t about us. It’s about you.

2023 was all about using ChatGPT for content. 2024 has been the year of building your own newsletter. And 2025? It’s shaping up to be the year of creating an audience around your quality and engaging audio.

So here we are, closing 2024 with AI podcasts on every Spotify Wrapped and absolutely owning the Zeitgeist. And you have the chance to start the new year strong, with your own creative, audio production. Be it a podcast, a meditation.. anything really.

As Garry Tan recently said on MFM: “the key to life is realizing that it’s all made up… but you get to make it up”.
